H-Bomb Films and Bomb Squad owner, Wes Miller, is currently down running the 2009 SCORE Baja 1000 in Mexico! TEAM 1a: Wayne Matlock, El Cajon, Calif./Harold Goodman Jr., Brownstown, Mich./Wes Miller, Fallbrook, Calif./Josh Caster, El Cajon, Calif., Honda TRX700XX
A blurb from Tuesday while pre-running for the 1000:
11/17 Day 2 in Ensenada. I pre-ran most of the day. I rode from Valle de Trinadad to Ojos Negros. It's about 135 miles. I took about 4 1/2 hours. I've ridden this section a bunch of times, so I know it really well. The course has run through here the past few races and the terrain is really getting chewed up. Sections that used to be fairly smooth are getting rough. I think there will end up being a lot of attrition and average speed will be down. It's also really dusty. It is going to be very difficult to pass. Wayne, Harold, and Josh have all been over on the San Felipe side pre-running their sections. Tomorrow will be one more day of pre-running. If anyone knows a good masseuse down here in Ensenada, please send her my way. The section from Urapan to Ojos is technical and takes its toll on your back. I'll be sending updates leading up to the race and then on race day, we will try to give as much play by play as possible from the middle of the desert.
RACE DAY 11/206:00am: Wanye headed to the start. It's a little cold, 47 degrees. The first pro dirt bike leaves the line at 6:30am. We are the second quad off the line & should leave around 7:00am.
6:57am: Wayne left the line on the 1a quad. He was the second pro quad starting 30 seconds behind 2a.
2:03pm: We are in 1st place with a 24 minute lead at Honda Pit 7.
